Indeed she was! Yet despite her strength and courage, she somehow retained her deep sensitivity, endless compassion, unerring patience and boundless love for those around her. In fact, to use a very overused expression (please forgive me!), she wore her very massive and open heart right on her sleeve. So many of us can lose those aspects of ourselves. We build walls round ourselves or are instructed to have a "thicker skin" in order to be strong and independent but she never seemed to lose any of those attributes. And for that reason, Cynthia will always be someone incredibly special in my heart.
Thank you for your wonderful blog Stephanie!
