Pattie and George on their first date. They were both so shy, Brian Epstein came too. Pattie, when she met George on A Hard Day's Night, was going out with someone else : Eric Swayne (but she wasn't really in love with him, she said). George chased her like mad, and even asked her to marry him. Then, he asked her on a date, she refused. But George wouldn't give up. Pattie came home and told her friend about George's proposition. Her friend told her : Are you completly mad ? George Harrison asks you out on a date and you said no ? She then reconsidered George's offer.

These photos of Pattie & George were not taken during their first date. They were taken at the Pickwick Club in London at a party hosted by Joan Collins. Paul & Jane, Ringo, and Hayley Mills also attended. This was the first time Pattie & George were photographed together in public as a couple in early April 1964.
