“[Maureen had] dark brown hair and painted on heavy eyeliner to create a Cleopatra look. She used no blush at all, so her face looked even paler than I remembered. But what really hit me that day was her perfume - Tabu, I found out later. I swear she must have bathed in it”. - Chris O’Dell

Chris O'Dell had an affair with Ringo during the 70s, she was a personal friend of the Beatles, worked for Derek Taylor, for the Rolling Stones, was in a relationship with Leon Russell, knew Carlos Santas, was a frequent guest at Friar Park & was friends with Pattie & Maureen. For more on her, consult the girlfriends section.

Mary ''Maureen'' Cox Starkey, later Tigrett, was Ringo's first wife BUT she also had an affair with George Harrison, another Beatle & husband to famous London 60s model Patricia Ann Boyd Harrison, known as Pattie Boyd. George was a known ladies man. Maureen claimed that they were only having a spiritual ''affair'' and that she felt they connected a lot on that level, says Chris O'Dell, friend to both Pattie & Maureen. Of course, Pattie would have none of it and so did the others. Maureen sometimes came late at night at Friar Park, the Harrisons estate. Pattie used to say what are you doing what about your children ? I'm going to bed. And Maureen said that she was going to the studio to see George. She spent several nights at the Harrisons. Pattie then phoned Ringo to tell him that every night he was asking hiself where his wife was, she was with George ! Once, Maureen & George were behind locked doors. Pattie knocked on the door and George answered, grinning, saying that Maureen had to lay down. Pattie was desperate. George had already cheated on her with a bevy of beauties, and sometimes in front of her in her own house. Then, during a tense night at the Starkeys, George proceeded to tell Ringo that he was in love with his wife. Ringo then said : Better you than someone we don't know. This was confirmed and told by Chris O'Dell, who was there, in her book, Miss O'Dell.

For more on this subject, I suggest you read Miss O'Dell, from Chris O'Dell.

Rooftop

January 30th 1969, The very famous Rooftop concert (on the Apple building). Yoko, Maureen, a friend from Los Angeles (I think) and Chris O'Dell are seated. She relates the event in her book, saying that Maureen was very icy at first (as was Pattie too) with her : she looked very fragile and everything but put up a wall (shocking, I thought). I think the wives were defensive at first, with other women, because it meant competition in their eyes, they couldn't trust any girlfriends...

Friar Park with the Harrisons

1973, Pattie cooking up a storm in the kitchen (Chris O'Dell said she was ALWAYS cooking at the time !). Other one : 1970, George and Pattie with their dogs in the garden of Friar Park. From Chris O'Dell's collection.

Pattie in a Tent

Pattie playing around during Christmas 1973 at Friar Park. From friend Chris O'Dell's website (Miss O'Dell). A little bit of trivia : George hitted on her (while married to Pattie, how very courtois of him) but Chris declined his offer (Pattie had already told her he might try). Chris sayed that she wanted to be Pattie's friend a lot more than she wanted to be George's lover. Pattie lost some friends this way...

1973-1974

From Chris O'Dell's personal collection. Miss O'Dell adds pictures daily so maybe we'll see more of them :) First one I already posted it but this one's a better version quality wise and it's larger too. It's Maureen with friend Chris circa 1974. The other one is Maureen and Ringo celebrating Christmas at Tittenhurst Park (Ringo bought it from John in 1971 I think and he lived in it til the late 80s).
