Starshyne from Meet the Beatles has learned this interesting info about this photo : I have looked into this photo a few months back and have learned a few things. First of all George and Patti were in Liverpool because George's mom had passed away. So that is why they aren't in the photo. Linda is the one taking this picture, and that is why she isn't in the photo and there is an empty seat.

The photo was taken Sept. 20, 1969 at the signing of a new contract. George & Pattie may have been visiting his terminally ill mother in Liverpool, but she didn't die until July 7, 1970 months after the Beatles broke up.
